Condoms
Condoms are an effective way to protect you and your partner
against STIs, and/or unintended pregnancy. You may visit any PPCC
Health Center to purchase condoms for a small fee. Condoms are
free for everyone under the age of 18.
What is a Condom?
Condoms are a rubber, plastic, or animal skin sheath worn over
the penis during sexual activity. They are 99% proven effective
in preventing STIs and/or unintended pregnancy if used correctly.
Vasectomy Referrals
Men who wish to prevent unintended pregnancy may consider a vasectomy.
Remember that vasectomies do not prevent against STIs.
PPCC does not perform vasectomies, but will provide vasectomy
referrals upon request. Please call one of our Health Centers to
obtain vasectomy referral information.
What is a Vasectomy?
Vasectomy is a permanent birth control for men. A vasectomy procedure
is a surgical procedure performed by a doctor in which the vasa
deferentia tube is regulated to stop producing sperm-containing
ejaculatory. This should not affect your ability to ejaculate.
Is Vasectomy Right For Me?
Only you and your doctor can determine if vasectomy is right for
you. As vasectomy is a permanent surgical option, it is best to
discuss your options with your physician.
Making an Appointment
Please contact the Health Center closest to you to schedule an
appointment.
Already have an appointment?
Please bring a photo ID with you at the time of your appointment.
You will not be seen without a photo ID.
Please bring your insurance card with you if you will be using
your health insurance. If you do not have health insurance, or
choose not to use it at the time of your visit, you will be charged
according to a sliding fee scale. If you have health insurance,
you will be charged your regular co-pay.
What is a sliding fee scale?
Through private donations and some government funding, PPCC is
able to provide services on a sliding scale. Fees for all eligible
clients are determined based on household size and income. Clients
may decline to provide this income and elect to pay the full fee.
Health Insurance
We accept more than 100 health insurance plans, including most
major carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid. If you choose to use your
health insurance, please let us know when you call to make your
appointment and bring your card with you. To check our list of
